Hmm, retreading a tweel? I hadn’t thought about that but I guess it makes sense. Though it does make me hope that they never see widespread road use, the last thing we need are more lost retreads sitting on the highway.

THAT’s the cable repair video I remember watching! I knew there was a better one out there. So satisfying watching how thorough the procedure is. All those special tools and careful techniques, plus the consideration for the work environment, like the cable stands and having a flat surface to stand on .. . these guys ain’t messing around. I 100% expect that repair to hold up.

Note also that they work from day into the night. Factor in the digging, the trenching, the clearing of the work area and that is an expensive repair. Very satisfying, though.
My favorite part is the big copper crimp in the middle of the entire thing.
